More Floyd food...
I keep telling Sally Walker of the Cafe del Sol that she could do
amazing things to her business volume if she would just make her
Sausage and White Bean soup a regular part of her daily menu.
This soup does wonders for your disposition when you have had a
hectic morning and are running on empty. It warms the heart and soul in
addition to making your hungry body very happy.
It has LOTS of sausage and white beans, with just enough onions, celery, carrots, herbs and spices to make up an irresistably delicious soup. The friendly staff at the Cafe del Sol serve it with locally-made bread or crackers, sometimes both.
The reason this bowl of soup looks partially consumed is that I was already wolfing it down when I remembered my duty to my readers and paused long enough to shoot this picture.
This soup is goood! Ask for it even if you don't see it on the menu. Maybe Sally will get the idea and make it a regular staple like her Buffalo Barbeque sandwich.
She is sensible that way. Would you buy a bowl of soup from this woman? I would, in a heartbeat!
Next time you are in Floyd, find the Cafe del Sol and ask for the sausage and white bean soup. If they don't have it come back until they do. It will be worth your time.
Just like old times..."You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant...."
